What is an Ambassador Model PLC at Work® School or District?

The elite Ambassador Model PLC at Work® tier is reserved for current Model PLC at Work® schools or districts who demonstrate their commitment to the PLC at Work process by continuously improving even after achieving model PLC status.

In addition, those who desire to receive the Ambassador designation demonstrate a commitment to supporting others on their PLC at Work journey. This could include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Mentor others as they implement PLC at Work processes within their settings.
  • Share your school and/or district work by setting up site visits.
  • Create video clips of your PLC work in action for Solution Tree’s Ed-Tech tools.
  • Advance student achievement for defined subpopulations (SpEd, ELs, and economically disadvantaged).
  • Demonstrate unique ways to ensure that all kids are learning at high levels.

Checklist for Ambassador Model PLC at Work® Application:

  • Ensure you are a current Model PLC at Work school or district.
  • Use the Ambassador Narrative Essay Template to complete the application
  • Write an essay/narrative explaining how your school or district has an intentional and successful focus on ensuring high levels of learning for all
  • Illustrate your commitment to supporting others on their PLC at Work journey.
  • Share how your school or district has stepped outside of the usual education role to ensure students in traditionally under-represented populations (SpEd, ELs, economically disadvantaged) continue to succeed.
  • Attach the completed Ambassador Narrative Essay in the Resources section of the application.
  • Please name file: Ambassador Narrative Essay for [Name of School or District]
  • Include samples of documented evidence that supports your narrative.
  • Attach these in the Resources section of your application.
  • Include Ambassador Evidence in the file(s) name.
  • Suggestions include but are not limited to:
  • Agendas or handouts from site visits.
  • Videos.
  • Articles or other validating materials.
  • Verify that your student achievement data is current.
  • If your school or district was last approved in 2021 or earlier, please provide your most recent three consecutive years of student achievement data.
  • Confirm contact person and contact information are correct & up to date.
  • Please add AllThingsPLC@SolutionTree.com to your safe recipients’ list to ensure emails about your application are not blocked.
  • We encourage adding an additional contact for your school or district.
  • Additional contacts can be added from your Manage Schools page or it is an option after you submit your updated application.
  • Check that any files or hyperlinks are accessible to others.
  • When using hyperlinks, please check that access is set to anyone with a link can view and saved in a location where people without your district email address can access it.
  • Hyperlinks that do not open can stop the review process.

Tips for Submitting a Successful Application

Once you start the application process, you can save your work and come back to it at any time.

  • To access your saved application, sign in to Your Profile and click Manage Schools.
  • You will have the opportunity to review your completed application before it is submitted.
  • Please ensure your Ambassador Narrative Essay is complete and attached in the Resources section of the application.
  • Remember to include samples of documented evidence that supports your Ambassador Narrative Essay in the Resources section of the application.
  • Include Ambassador Evidence in the file(s) name.
  • Before submitting your application, we recommend sending the application to several members of your team for review.
  • You can do this by copying the URL of the application preview in step 8.
  • After submitting your application, you will have the opportunity to add additional contacts, we recommend adding at least one additional contact person.

After You Apply

Our panel of expert PLC at Work practitioners will use the above criteria to assess each school or district. Please consider carefully whether your school or district meets each criterion. The time frame for applications to be reviewed averages between 4-6 weeks.

After the committee has reviewed your application, you will receive:

  • If Approved, you will receive the following:
  • Email notifying you of approval.
  • Ambassador Model PLC at Work School or District Digital Badge.
  • Sample Ambassador Model PLC at Work Press Release.
  • Ambassador Model PLC at Work Flag.
  • Ambassador Model PLC at Work Certificate of Achievement.
  • Ambassador Model PLC at Work Window Cling
  • Signed letter from CFO giving 1 free registration to any Solution Tree institute, summit, or workshop.
  • If additional information is requested:
  • An email will be sent with a detailed Feedback Letter from the Evidence of Effectiveness (EOE) Review Committee.
  • You have the opportunity to speak with a member of the Evidence of Effectiveness Review Committee to clarify and discuss next steps.
  • If your application is not approved:
  • We encourage you to continue your school improvement efforts and resubmit another application in the future.

Maintaining Your Ambassador Model PLC at Work® Status

  • Approved schools and districts must update their data every three years to maintain their Ambassador Model PLC at Work®q qqqxdw status.
  • They must also submit an updated narrative.

Accessing or Updating Your Current Model PLC at Work® Application

  • To access your application, sign in to Your Profile and then click Manage Schools.
  • Here, you can access your existing application, make the necessary updates, attach your Mentoring Narrative Essay, and resubmit your application.
  • You can upload additional contact information at any time.
  • To do this, sign in to Your Profile, click Manage Schools, and then click Manage Contacts.

Need Help Accessing Your Application?

If you need help accessing your application or if your Application Administrator has changed, we can help reset that for you.

  • The Application Administrator will need a (free) account on the AllThingsPLC website.
  • Please click sign in to create a free account if you don’t already have one.
  • Please email AllThingsPLC@SolutionTree.com or click Contact Us at the bottom of the page.
  • We will need the name and email address of the person who will be the Application Administrator.
  • Please include the name of the school or district, the city, and state.
