Kim “Lovie” Howell is the Librarian at Benton Middle School, Benton, Louisiana.  Having earned a bachelor degree in Elementary Education, she is certified in Kindergarten and Library Science from  LSUS and LA Tech Universities.  Passionate about children and books, teaching preschool, Kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th grades for 16 years made moving into the library in 2011, a smooth transition and a dream come true.In her nine years as a Librarian, the Library program earned the Louisiana Library Association James O. Modisette Award for 2017 and Louisiana Association of School Libraries Librarian of the Year 2019. Mrs. Howell serves as 1st Vice President of the Louisiana Association of School Librarians, LLA Chair of the Modisette Committee, President of the Bossier Parish Association of School Librarians and a State Teacher Leader.
